The\u00a0Cahuenga Branch<\/a>\u00a0Library made an appearance on NBC’s\u00a0This Is Us<\/a>\u00a0on the episode that aired oon Tuesday, February 27. The library played “Creekside Public Library” in Pittsburgh, circa 1988 in the young Kate and Randall flashback sequence.<\/p>\n

The show’s producers, 20th Century Fox Television, came to the library on the morning of February 6 to shoot the scenes. They even set up sone of the lighting equipment outside the building the day before.<\/p>\n

Normally, TV or film production pays the owner of the location shoot a compensation for the trouble of filming. Since the library is owned by the City of Los Angeles, 20th Century Fox Television instead donated the $2,500 filming compensation to Friends of Cahuenga Library!<\/p>\n
